Affirmative to Negative
Rule 1
Affirmative Sentence এর Only বা Alone এর পরিবর্তে Negative Sentence এ
Person এর জন্য None but, বয়সের জন্য not more than এবং বস্তুর ক্ষেত্রে
nothing but বসে। অন্য কোনো পরিবর্তনের প্রয়োজন হয় না।
Here Some Examples:
➤ Affirmative: Only Shakib Al Hasan can take 5 wickets in this match.
Negative: None but Shakib Al Hasan can take 5 wickets in this
match.
➤ Affirmatives: He is only seven years old.
Negative: He s not more than
seven years old.
➤ Affirmative: Only a gamepad is real love to a
gamer.
Negative: Nothing but a
gamepad is real love to a gamer.
Rule 2
Must যুক্ত Affirmative Sentence কে Negative করার জন্য must এর স্থলে can not
but বা can not help বসাতে হয়। ইচ্ছে অনুযায়ী যেকোনো একটা বসালেই হয়ে যায়। can
not but এর পর verb এর base form হয় আর can not help এর পর verb এর সাথে ing
যুক্ত হয়।
Here Some Examples:
➤ Affirmative: You must study attentively to make a good result.
⇨Negative: You can not but study attentively to make a good result.
⇨Negative: You can not help studying attentively to make a good result.
➤ Affirmative: You must obey your parents' good commands.
⇨Negative: You can not but obey your parents' good commands.
⇨Negative: You can not help obeying your parents' good commands.
⇨Negative: You can not but study attentively to make a good result.
⇨Negative: You can not help studying attentively to make a good result.
➤ Affirmative: You must obey your parents' good commands.
⇨Negative: You can not but obey your parents' good commands.
⇨Negative: You can not help obeying your parents' good commands.
Rule 3
Every যুক্ত Affirmative Sentence কে Negative করতে চাইলে Every এর স্থলে
There is no + every এর পরের শব্দটি + but + বাকি অংশ বসে। এভাবেই অর্থ
পরিবর্তন না করে Every যুক্ত Affirmative Sentence কে Negative করতে হয়।
Here Some Examples:
➤ Affirmative: Every mother loves her child.
Negative: There is no mother but loves her child.
➤ Affirmative: Every batsman fears Rashid Khan.
Negative: There is no batsman but fears Rashid Khan.
Negative: There is no mother but loves her child.
➤ Affirmative: Every batsman fears Rashid Khan.
Negative: There is no batsman but fears Rashid Khan.
Rule 4
As... ...as যুক্ত Positive Degree এর Affirmative Sentence কে Negative করার
জন্য not less ... ... than বসে। অর্থাৎ, প্রথম as এর স্থলে not less এবং
পরবর্তী as এর স্থলে than বসে। বাকি সব ঠিক থাকে।
➤ Affirmative: Shakib is as strong as Sujon.
Negative: Shakib is not less string than Sujon.
➤ Affirmative: As a teacher, Rasel is as good as Rajib.
Negative: As a teacher, Rasel is not less good than Rajib.
Negative: Shakib is not less string than Sujon.
➤ Affirmative: As a teacher, Rasel is as good as Rajib.
Negative: As a teacher, Rasel is not less good than Rajib.
Rule 5
As soon as আছে, এমন Affirmative Sentence কে Negative করতে হলে As soon as এর
স্থানে No sooner had + Subject + মূল Verb এর past participle + clause এর
বাকি অংশ + than + দ্বিতীয় clause টি বসে।
Here Some Examples:
➤ Affirmative: As soon as the man saw the police, he
ran away.
Negative: No sooner had the man seen the police than he ran
away.
➤ Affirmative: As soon as Tamim Iqbal hit the ball,
the fielder ran to catch it.
Negative: No sooner had Tamim Iqbal hit the ball than the
fielder ran to catch it.
Rule 6
কোনো কোনো Affrimative Sentence কে Negative করার জন্য উক্ত sentence এর
adjective এর negative অর্থ যুক্ত অর্থ/বিপরীত শব্দ বসাতে হয়। এবং ঠিক তার আগে
not শব্দটি যোগ করে দিতে হয়।
Here Some Examples:
➤ Affirmative: Jami is a good content writer.
Negative: Jami is not a bad content writer.
➤ Affirmative: Our school field is big.
Negative: Our school field is not small.
Rule 7
Always যুক্ত Affirmative Sentence কে Negative করার জন্য Rule 6 মতোই
Adjective এর বিপরীত শব্দ বসাতে হয় এবং always এর পরিবর্তে never বসাতে
হয়।
Here Some Examples:
➤ Affirmative: Shushanta sir is always punctual.
Negative: Shushanta sir is never late/
➤ Affirmative: My mother always tells truth.
Negative: My mother never tells lies.
Rule 8
best যুক্ত superlative sentence কে negative করতে হলে no other + best এর
পরের অংশ + verb + as + superlative degree এর positive form + as + subject
গঠনটি অনুসরন করতে হয়।
➤ Affirmative: He is the best footballer in the
team.
Negative: No other footballer in the team is as good as him.
➤ Affirmative: Pranto is the best boy I have ever
met.
Negative: No other boy I have ever met is as good as Pranto.
Rule 9
Than any other/than all other ব্যতিত অন্যান্য than যুক্ত affirmative
sentence কে negative করার জন্য প্রথমে than এর শেষের অংশ বসাতে হবে। তারপর
verb + not + so/as + comparative degree এর positive form + as + subject
গঠনটি অনুসরন করতে হবে।
Here Some Examples:
➤ Affirmative: Ali is stronger than you.
Negative: You are not as strong as Ali.
➤ Affirmative: Darren Sammy is taller than Mushfiqur
Rahim.
Negative: Mushfiqur Rahim is not as tall as Darren Sammy.
Rule 10
than any other/than all other যুক্ত comparative degree কে negative করতে
চাইলে নিচের গঠনটি অনুসরন করতে হবে।
No other + than any other/than all other এর পরের অংশ + verb + so/as +
comparative degree এর positive form + as + subject.
Here Some Examples:
➤ Affirmative: He is taller than any other boy in the
class.
Negative: No other boy in the class is as tall as him.
➤ Affirmative: Russia is bigger than any other country
in the world.
Negative: No other country in the world is so big as Russia.
Rule 11
Too... ... to যুক্ত Affirmative Sentence কে Negative করার জন্য too এর
পরিবর্তে so বসে এবং to এর পরিবর্তে that বসে। too এর to এর মাঝের adjective বা
adverb টি ঠিকমতোই বসে। পূর্ণ গঠনটি হবে,
Too এর জায়গায় so + too এর পরের adj/adv + that + subject + tense অনুযায়ী can
not/could not + to এর পরের অংশ।
Here Some Examples:
➤ Affirmative: He is too week to move.
Negative: He is so week that he can not move.
➤ Affirmative: The math is too hard for me to solve.
Negative: The math is so hard that I could not solve.
Rule 12
Less... ...than যুক্ত affirmative sentence কে negative sentence এ রূপান্ত
করতে হলে less এর পরিবর্তে not as এবং than এর পরিবর্তে as বসবে।
Here Some Examples:
➤ Affirmative: He is less strong than you mentioned.
Negative: He is not as strong as you mentioned.
➤ Affirmative: You are less smart than I thought.
Negative: You are not as smart as I thought.
Negative to Affirmative
Negative to Affirmative এর জন্য উপরের নিয়মগুলোর বিপরীত নিয়ম অনুসরন করলেই
হয়ে যাবে। নিচে কয়েকটি উদাহারণ দেখা যাক।
Here Some Examples:
➤ Negative: I will never forget to give you this pen.
Affirmative: I will always remember to give you this pen.
➤ Negative: Reach people are not always happy.
Affirmative: Rich people are sometimes happy.
➤ Negative: I can not but buy a new mobile phone.
Affirmative: I must buy a new mobile phone.
